Family Assistance Fund

The Pet Hospice and Palliative Care Family Assistance Fund (“The Fund”) was established as a way for Compassion For Pets to help Chicago area pet owners who want to benefit from in-home pet hospice and palliative care services, but who cannot afford to do so without some financial assistance.

The goal of the fund is to make positive animal end-of-life experiences affordable for loving families dedicated to their animals who are willing to pay some of the cost of hospice and palliative care services, but would find the services cost-prohibitive at full price.

Participation in this program is limited to pet owners/caregivers that undergo financial needs verification AND COMMIT to paying 33% of the services’ full cost. Participating  pet hospice and palliative care service providers offer a discount equal to 33% of the cost of services, and the remaining 34% is paid by The Fund to the service provider/s. The Fund’s contribution is limited to $500 per family. Limited to participating providers. Subject to availability of providers and funds.

The Fund is primarily funded by donations made by clients of Compassionate Veterinary Hospice and others who wish to honor special furry, feathered, scaly or human family and friends. Compassionate Veterinary Hospice makes donations to this program in memory of every beloved pet it has had the privilege to serve.
The Fund has limited resources and eligibility decisions are at the sole discretion of The Fund administrator. Compassion For Pets has been designated as a 501(c)(3), and therefore donations are tax-deductible.
